    DEPUTY PREMIER RECEIVES MADRID CLUB DELEGATION

    MANAMA, FEB.15 (BNA) - DEPUTY PRIME MINISTER SHAIKH MOHAMMED BIN MUBARAK AL KHALIFA RECEIVED THIS MORNING A DELEGATION FROM MADRID CLUB, COMPRISING FORMER PRIME MINISTERS OF FRANCE, LATVIA AND BOSNIA, WHO ATTENDED THE CLUB'S DIALOGUE SESSIONS OF 2008 IN BAHRAIN.

    DURING THE MEETING, THE DEPUTY PREMIER SAID THE ROYAL REFORM SCHEME THAT LED TO THE NATIONAL ACTION CHARTER, BEING CELEBRATED BY THE KINGDOM THESE DAYS, LAID THE FOUNDATIONS FOR DEMOCRACY AND HUMAN RIGHTS WITHIN SOUND LEADERSHIP-PEOPLE RELATIONS. CONSEQUENTLY, HE ADDED, BAHRAIN'S ACHIEVEMENTS ECHOED ACROSS THE GLOBE AND THE COUNTRY TOPPED INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS' ECONOMIC, SOCIAL AND POLITICAL AND HUMAN RIGHTS INDICES. ON THEIR PART, THE DELEGATION MEMBERS BRIEFED SHAIKH MOHAMMED ON THE RECOMMENDATIONS OF MANAMA AND AMMAN DIALOGUE SESSIONS AND HAILED THE KINGDOM'S POSITIVE ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL ACHIEVEMENTS ON LOCAL AND INTERNATIONAL LEVELS. PRESENT AT THE MEETING WAS SHURA COUNCIL FIRST DEPUTY CHAIRMAN JAMAL FAKHRO.
