    Deputy Premier receives UN human rights delegation

    Prime Minister Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa underscored the kingdom's commitment to international human rights standards. He said countries' progress is not only measured by economic and urban growth but also by accumulative achievements in the human rights field.
    He was speaking as he received at Gudaibiya Palace today a delegation from Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights led by Baker Ndiaye.

    He voiced the kingdom's keenness to bolster cooperation with the UN agency and avail of its rich experience in the human rights field.

    He thanked the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights for sending the delegation at a request by Bahrain to provide technical support in the human rights field.

    Mr. Ndiaye hailed cooperation with Bahrain lauding the kingdom's growth and adherence to the international human rights standards.
